Meet The Menagerie, a skramz/emo band from Somerset, Kentucky. The four piece consists of Austin Mullins with vocals, Justice LeTourneau on guitar, Ryan Jones on drums, and Rebecca Grubb on bass. Formed in 2014 by Austin, Ryan, and Justice, the band released their 6 song debut EP “I Just Want to be Happy Again” independently on September 22, 2015 and also put out a recent split in June of this year with another skramz band “Whittled Down” from Long Island, NY. The two went out on an 11 day tour to support the split in the same month starting in Ferguson, KY and ending in Amityville, NY with states such as Florida, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania in between.
Austin Mullins describes how the founding three met in high school and played in various bands that never worked out, such as a freshman year rock band and an attempted metal core band their sophomore year. These bands not going in their desired direction led to them all deciding they wanted to try one more time and face it with a more serious attitude which has treated them well with successes that people dream of like touring and releasing music, or even being able to play in a dedicated band in general. Influenced and compared to bands like Old Gray and Pianos Become the Teeth, this band has a bright future in the music scene if they keep touring and releasing good music like they are now.
