My Sweet Fall just released their newest EP, The Root Of It All! This is the band's first release in around two years, but as soon as the first chord rings out on the tile track, you realize just how worth the wait it was. The opening and title track set you up for the beautiful musical journey you are about to go on.
"The Root of it All" is my favorite song, by far, for many reasons. The biggest reason for me is the "hook" of the chorus that pulls you in and makes me repeat the song a few times before going on to the next song. Hearing this as the first track since their last album, you really get a feel for how much My Sweet Fall has matured and grown.
All of this album has a very refined and crispness to it that is very refreshing as a fan of the pop-punk community. My Sweet Fall has obviously put a lot of work into this, and it has for sure paid off. You can really hear the difference in tone and clarity in vocalist, Nick Long, when compared to their older music. A good example of this is the final track "The Brightest Stars". The emotionally heavy song features my favorite examples of each member's talents. Drummer, Bryan Davies, really impresses me in this song! Making drums "complex" without being muddy or overbaring has been something I have rarely found, but Davies does it very well!
You can find this album on iTunes, Spotify and YouTube!
